QUOTE (William L. Shirer)

February 23, 2016

Shirer“No class or group or party in Germany could escape its share of responsibility for the abandonment of the democratic Republic and the advent of Adolf Hitler. The cardinal error of the Germans who opposed Nazism was their failure to unite against it. ”
~ William L. Shirer

  2. To no avail. America and England let 90% or better of those “captured” free after the WAR. No prosecutions. No consequences for their actions. Oddly enough, now we have socialism all over again [like a cancer] having never been dealt with.

  5. Reblogged this on sherryleveck2 and commented:
This journalist is a true national treasure. He was right; if people had united against the National Socialists, chances are they would not have moved into power. However, several people had been murdered above the powerhouse Hitler, moving him to Chancellor. Hitler was never elected by anyone to his final position. It was a takeover with murder and intrigue.

  6. Insightful quote about an event in history we all can’t help wondering about. We wonder how — and then we realize, that humans were behind it. *Sigh.*

  7. History ignored repeats itself. I see Americans behaving much like the Germans of yesteryear.
