QUOTE (C.S. Lewis) – Nov. 29
November 29, 2015“Ever since I served as an infantryman in the First World War I have had a great dislike of people who themselves in ease and safety, issue exhortations to men in the front line. As a result I have a great reluctance to say much about temptations to which I am not exposed.”
~ C.S. Lewis
In honor of C.S. Lewis , a British novelist, poet, academic, Christian apologist and one of my favorite authors, who was born on this day in 1898.

It blows my mind that he was in the front lines during WW1
I was surprised by that as well.
C.S. Lewis was born in 1898 according to google….but a good example to live by nevertheless.
Hey Chris – Thanks for the catch on the date. Hope all is well and that the move was a good one. God Bless!
C.S. Lewis was born in 1898 according to google….but otherwise good advice.
Let’s also remember that my favorite Christian author served in WWI as an atheist. And like the Bible and many authors, he used military metaphors and images. Such images are certainly not wrong but many wrongly use them to sanctify bloodshed. https://spurgeonwarquotes.wordpress.com/
