“O what a happy soul am I!
Although I cannot see,
I am resolved that in this world
Contented I will be;

How many blessings I enjoy
That other people don’t!
To weep and sigh because I’m blind,
I cannot, and I won’t.”

~ Fanny Crosby

In honor of Fanny Crosby, who wrote hundreds of hymns and was blind from her youth.  On this day in 1850, she sought assurance at a Methodist revival service altar and was flooded with joy, and leapt up, shouting “Hallelujah.”

  1. I never knew of “Fanny Crosby.” Thank you for introducing her to me! How insightful she was.

    • I am so glad that this post introduce you to Fanny Crosby. She was an amazing lady. I am astounded by the thought that she wrote over 9,000 hymns. I understand that she started to write under pen names so that the hymnals would not be filled with her name. God gave her an amazing gift.
      God Bless!

    • Thanks for the encouragement. I was not sure how they would go over. I have just been encouraged by all the faithful brothers and sisters who have gone before us but still speak truth into our lives and faith. I am glad that you share in that encouragement.
      God Bless!
