BIBLE READING PLAN:    Psalm 143-Prov 1

MEDITATION VERSE:   “Let Israel be glad in his Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!… For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.” Psalm 149:2, 4

  • There is so much to be glad about in God;
  • There is so much to rejoice about in God;
  • Why am I not overflowing with rejoicing and gladness?  The easiest thing to do is to take for granted the world we live in and the blessings that we have seen.  It is so easy to look at the marvels of creation and not consider them at all, much less the creator of those marvels.  It is so easy to take for granted all of the blessings that we have been given.  We only realize how much of a blessing they are until we lose them.  How foolish is that?
  • It blows my mind that God can and will take pleasure in me!  Every decision I make; every step I take, even the small, trivial, insignificant ones matter because I will either please or displease God.
  • I want to bring pleasure to God.  How do I do that? By living each and every day by faith (Heb. 11:6).
  • When I meditate on the reality of God’s existence; when I see his handiwork in all of creation around me; when I see his hand in my life and the lives of my friends and family; when I let the reality of God’s greatness and goodness and mercy hit me; when I meditate on what he has done for me through his Son then how can I not praise him.
  • A joyful and rejoicing heart is the nature result of a life lived by faith, which will be a life that brings pleasure to God because it is a life that brings the glory to God.
  • Think of 10 things to praise God about!

PRAYER:    Lord, thank you, thank you, thank you; fill me with your spirit to enable me to see clearly your greatness and your mercy and goodness and your steadfast love; may my life bring you glory and pleasure.  Amen

This my daily Bible reading plan.  I am providing it in hopes that it will encourage you to start one of your own.
